Zydus Cadila has received the permission from the Drugs Controller General of India to start human trials for its Covid-19 vaccine,media reports said. The vaccine had provided satisfactory results in the pre-clinical and animal trials. Earlier, the drug regulator had approved human trials of Covaxin, a vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research. World over, more than100 vaccinesare under development, with several desi drugmakers in the fray.
